Why you need to convert UTME to DE
Candidates seeking for admission in tertiary institutions that have already registered for JAMB UTME and now think that they want the DE instead of UTME, Jamb has given them the second chance of Upgrading their UTME to DE.
That means they don’t have to wait for another year to register for another Jamb but they can us their UTME profile to upgrade to DE.
If you think that you have seated for the UTME exams and no longer want admission through UTME and you have the requirements for DE you can upgrade to your DE.
Still if you have seated for the UTME exams but you did not get the required scores you also have the chance to upgrade to Direct Entry.
Requirements for upgrading UTME to DE
Even though all candidates are free to upgrade their UTME to DE, there are still some requirements you need to have.
To upgrade from UTME to DE you must first of all have registered for Utme in any JAMB centre across the country.
You must have a result or certificate from an institution higher than a secondary or equivalent schools such as NCE, ND, HND, JUPEB, Bsc, IJMB, RN, etc.

There is no specific date for upgrading your UTME to DE as of now.
However, the converting will take place after the results are out. You can then go to JAMB office and request for upgrade.

To convert your UTME to DE does not cost you any money 💰.You just need to get your transport money 💰 and that is ok.
That means converting JAMB UTME to DE is free.
Can I upgrade my UTME to DE in Cafe, Online or in CBT centres?

When you get to the JAMB office just tell them that you want to upgrade your UTME to DE.
They may ask for your reasons for that and you have to convince them with your reasons. It’s not hard. Just tell them your reasons and they will give you chance or give you some guidelines. It’s easy.
After that present your UTME registration evidence and UTME examination results if possible. Including your NCE, ND, HND, JUPEB, Bsc, IJMB, RN and so result. Depending on the one you have and they will upgrade you to DE if the conditions are made.
