Host4beta Free Hosting: How to get free SSL Certificate

If you wonder how to get free ssl certificate on your Host4beta free hosting look no further. You are in the right place.

So may times people are asking how to get free SSL on their Host4beta website, and I thought let me create this article to help those kind of people.

Does Host4beta offer free SSL Certificates

The answer is yes and no. That is because as of now Host4beta does not offer free SSL for free hosting accounts yet. However, they offer free SSL certificates on their paid hosting plans.

That means, Host4beta allowed only self-signedÂSSL Certificates on their free hosting. But if you need Signed or automated SSL you will need to upgrade to their paid plans. So if you need HTTPS on your site you will need to order an SSL certificate with third party and then install it on your site.

Today I will show you how to  get free SSL certificates from GoGetSSL and install it on your Host4beta site step by step.

Step 1: Create GoGetSSL account

To get a free SSL for your free hosting account go to GoGetSSL and create a free account.

Step 2: Order free SSL

After creating your account go ahead and order a free SSL from SSL Certificates in the menu..

Step 3: Go and Generate CSR in your hosting account From Host4beta

After ordering a free ssl from Gogetssl do not close this window. Open a new window to log in to your Host4beta free hosting account.

Navigate to SSL/TLT, select your domain and click configure.

In the new window select Generate key/CSR. Add your information and click Generate.

After generating your key and CSR, copy the CSR section to your clipboard.

(Remember you can also generate your key and CSR from your GoGetSSL account from online tools, but we use this method because it is straight forward and much easier.)

Step 4: Optional Step

Now go to the Gogetssl menu and click online tools, and select CSR Decoder.
Paste the CSR you copied in the space provided and click decode.

Remember this step is optional.

Step 5: Generate SSL

Navigate to SSL certificates from the menu. Your certificate will be incomplete at this moment but don’t worry.

Now click view certificate and navigate to Generate Certificate.

Past your CSR in the space provided from the new window and click Validate CSR.

A new window will open asking you to select your Domain Control Validation (DCV) method, select DNS and click next step.

From the next window you will need to provide your Administrator and Technical Contact details and then Generate your SSL.

Step 6: Domain Control Validation (DCV)

Now you will need to verify your domain control.

Navigate to SSL certificates again from the menu where you will see the lists of your SSL certificates. Now your certificate should show status of Processing instead of the previews Incomplete.

Click view to proceed.
In the new window click domain validation. You will be provided with DNS record to validate your domain.

If you knows how to add Cname records please go ahead and do that and skip down to next step. But if you can’t do it alone keep reading carefully.

Go to your Host4beta account and navigate to Cname under advance.

Copy the beginning of the records without the .yourdomain.host4beta.com.ng and paste it in the Source.

Copy the last part of the records after Cname and paste it in the Destination as shown below.


Then click add.

Now go ahead and click Resend/Revalidate. The re-validation process will start and it usually will take 3 minutes to complete.

So wait patiently.

After succesful validation your SSL certificate should now be ready.

Now click certificateÂto download and open it. Then copy and paste it in the Certificate box in your domain SSL/TLT section and click save.
