If you have ever bookmarked a webpage before you must have seen the icon that appears before the bookmarked page or website. In a simple note, that is the favicon.
Therefore, a favicon is the icon that represents or identifies a webpage/website on the internet. It always appears before the URL.
In a Blogger Blogspot website, there is the default Blogger favicon for each blog hosted on the platform. It looks like the screenshot below.

In order to make your blog look unique and professional, changing the Blogger default favicon to a custom favicon is very important.
In order to change favicon on Blogger, you will first of all need to create your own custom favicon or logo and then upload it to your blogger blog.
How To Create A Free Favicon
To create favicon for free, there are many platforms that can help you do that: such as Enveto Playit, Favicon.io.
But for this tutorial I will be using Favicon.io to show you how you can create free logos or favicons for your blog. However, If you want to create a custom design that looks very branding and professional I recommend you use Eveto Playit. It has better custom design features that you will need.
Now go to favicon.io to create your free favicon. it is a free favicon generator tool that can help you create a favicon within few minutes.
With the favicon generator page you can edit your favicon as you wanted.

Using the textÂyou insert the text you want to be displayed on the logo like on the preview on the above picture. However, I recommend your text should be at maximum of two letters in order to be displayed fully on the Logo.
On the BackgroundÂyou give your logo a shape. Either Square, cycle, or rounded.
On the font, the favicon generator uses Google fontsÂwhich has 800+ fonts that you can choose from.
Now you can change your fonts variation, sizeÂ(400 normal size),Âand color.

You can still change background colorÂto any color you wish.

Now you can see the preview of your logo at the top (the preview don’t work on every mobile device, you need to switch to the desktop version). When it is nice you can then download it to your files.
Now that you have create favicon you can go straight to change favicon on Blogger blogspot website.
How to Change Favicon on Blogger
To do that simply sign-in to blogger.com and login to your dashboard and choose the blog you want to change favicon on Blogger.
Using the left menu select settings
In the settings scroll down to “Google analytics property”Âand click “favicon” under it.
Now a “configure favicon”Âwill pop up, where you will need to add your favicon.
Important:Âyour favicon must be square and within 100KB. If you create your favicon with Favicon.io you don’t need to edit anything because your favicon is already compatible with these conditions.
Now click “choose file” and you will be directed to your file explorer where you need to choose your downloaded favicon.
But since you have create favicon previously, you must make sure that you have extracted the favicon. Then from the extracted favicons you select one and your favicon is uploaded.
Click “save” to change favicon on Blogger completely.
Now you can go back and visit your blog where you will see your changed favicon there in the beginning of the URL.
You can also bookmark your blog to see the custom favicon or icon. If you didn’t see it wait for a while and try again.
