How to create categories with labels in blogger blogs

1, How to create categories with labels in Blogger blog

Categorising existing post

Step 1 choose your blog

Go to Blogger.com and sign in to your account and choose the blog you want to add categories. Using the sidebar menu select “posts”

Step 2 Go to “Posts” in your blogger dashboardÂ

The list of your blog posts will appear

Now if you want to label single post use the options at the right end corner of every post you want to give it a label and the options will pop up.

But if you want to label multiple posts, use “manage” at the top right of the “posts” section.

Select the posts you want to give them the same label.

Step 3 Apply Labels

Select “Apply Label” and you can now give your post a label name.

You can do this by just given it the name you want to use as category.
E.g

 

If you write your posts about common law and still write about consumer rights and another for financial act you may simply use these as your categories.

Just make sure that any other post you write you give it it’s respective category and the categories most be spelled exactly the same to not read as a different category.

If you Categorize a posts as “Common Law” and you want to add another post to that label you must spell it as “Common Law” not “common law” otherwise, it will be readed as a different label.

Categorising a new post

This method you can use it immediately when you are writing your post in the post editor.

Step 1 Go to settings in blogger editor

In the post editor where you are just creating your blog, use the “setting”

Step 2 Add your labelsÂ

Add the name of the category you are writing about

Write the content and then publish or write the content before adding the label any way you want it but make sure you add your label before publishing your post.

2, Add categories/labels to your blog

Step 1 Go to layoutÂ

Go to your Blogger dashboard and select the blog you want to add categories and select “layout” in the sidebar menu

Step 2 Add a gadget

In the layout section, go to the sidebar, footer or any where you can add a Gadget and click “Add a Gadget”

Step 3 select “Labels” gadget

A gadgets list will pop up. Select “Labels” gadget

Step 4 Configure your labels gadget

A “Configure Labels” will appear in the new gadget you have added.

Rename the gadget’s title to “Categories” or just leave it to show “Labels” by default or give it any name you think is more good as you wish and scroll down to select the options to how your label will appear in your blog and then save it.
