Where are the places to add gadgets in blogger

The number of places you may add gadgets in your blogger layout depends on the sections defined by your template.Â

But most of the places you can easily add a gadgets on Blogger are the header, footer, sidebar, blog1(postsection), etc. These places are sections in your layout and therefore you can add gadgets in them easily.

Why can’t I add gadgets anywhere in my blogger layout?

There is nothing like you can’t add gadgets anywhere in your blog but must a times it will require you to add or edit some codes in your template.

The reason why most a time we can’t find add a gadget in a desired section is because of few possible reason.

First is either the section is locket. Secondly because the section is allowed to show only one 1 gadget. In this case where it is allowed to show one gadget, the “add a gadget” will disappear after adding the first gadget.

Thirdly maybe the section is not allowed to show added elements and some other reasons. Sometimes you my see there isn’t the above first, second and third codes or any of them.Â

So all you will need to do is to edit or add the codes where necessary. Fortunately editing or adding the code is very easy that you can successfully at the first time.

How to create add a gadget in Blogger layout step by step

Now let’s see how you can create the add a gadget in blogger blog.

Step 1

Lets determine where we will create the add a gadget in our layout

Step 2

Navigate to “theme” using the sidebar as shown in the picture below

A bunch of codes will appear which we will need to edit some codes there

Step 3

In codes click “Jump Widgets” and select the widget section you want to create “add a gadget” as shown below

After selecting the header1 widget you will see the codes for the section you selected

Step 4

The codes that we need here are:Â

showaddelement, maxwidgets and locket.

If the template you are editing already have this attributes you go straight and just edit the values. But if they are not there or some are missing then you must add the missing attributes.

As in my case today there is the showaddelement=’false’and Locked=’true’ but there is no maxwidgets which I need to add in the codes.

Now edit the showaddelement=’false’to showaddelement=’true’in the codes and edit the Locked=’true’ to locked=’false’

Now copy maxwidgets=’2′and paste in just before or after showaddelement=’true’

Like in the picture below

Note that the maxwidgets number is the total number of gadgets you can add in the section so you can edit it to any number you wish.

Now you can save your template and your template should now look like this

You can now add the gadget you wanted depending on the maxwidgets number you have saved in the HTML.
