How to change blogger template for beginners

What is blogger templates

Blogger template is the main design of your  blog. It defines how your blog looks like and how you blog element or widgets/gadgets will be displayed.

Template is a particular style in which something is based on. Or is a computer design that has the basic format of your blog or website.

Your blog is always displayed based on the format of your template. That is why we are abled to create different blogs and website that are unique to one another.

How to change or switch free blogger templates in your dashboard

To do that you need to login to your blogger dashboard select and the blog you want to edit.

Navigate to your “Theme” through the side bar menu. In the theme page you will see many template like pictures. Scroll through them to select the one you like.

If you dont know which one to use you can view then one by one in your blog before deciding to choose one.

To do that click on any template select “Preview” and you will see how th template looks like in your blog. If you like it click the “Apply” or just ignore it and try another one if you dont like it.

After choosing your theme or template you can go to Layout in your dashboard to edit and customize your template.

Now if you want to change your blogger template lets see how you can do that.

Firstly you need to login to your Blogger dashboard and navigate to “theme”. You can find it from the left side bar of your dashboard.

In the Theme page you will see “customize” and another arrow beside it. Ignore the “customize” and click the arrow.

There should be a drop down menu or list any how you called it. Then select “Back up” this is to download the backupof your blog in case you will need it in the future. Click 6he download from the pop up.

After the back up is successful click the restore option in the same menu. Click the upload option from the pop up.

Go to your files in your device where you have saved your custom template.

Note you must have downloaded your third party template by now. Make sure you extract the template from the zip file.

Select the xml file from the extracted files and click upload it select.

Your template will now upload to your blog.

You can now go to the Loyout in your dashboard to customize your template.
