What are nofollow links

Nofollow links are links that have the nofollow attribute (rel=”nofollow”) which is use to prevent search engines like Google from following the links by telling the search engines that the particular URL should not be followed when crawling the page that contain the link.

For instance, when bots are crawling a particular page and during the crawling it finds a link 🔗 on the page the bot will as well try to follow that link and crawl the destination page. So the more pages that are linking to that page and the more qualitative those links are the more SEO benefits it gets.

So if you are not willing to let search 🔍 engine bots to crawl such pages you need to add nofollow on them. Such links might include sponsored links, affiliate links, comments, etc.

A normal dofollow links should look like this:

https://hehelpbloggers.blogspot.com

While nofollow links should look like this:

https://hehelpbloggers.blogspot.com/ rel=”nofollow”
